{"id":265308,"date":"2023-08-02T22:54:54","date_gmt":"2023-08-02T22:54:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/transact-tech.com\/service-and-support\/?p=265308"},"modified":"2024-02-13T22:46:11","modified_gmt":"2024-02-13T22:46:11","slug":"my-accudate-9700-wont-start-or-stay-on","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/transact-tech.com\/service-and-support\/2023\/08\/02\/my-accudate-9700-wont-start-or-stay-on\/","title":{"rendered":"My AccuDate 9700 Won\u2019t Start or Stay On"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>If your AccuDate 9700 does not go to the normal Home Screen upon powering on, or will not stay on the normal Home screen after attempting to use the terminal, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take, depending on the nature of the issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Does Not Power On<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If there does not seem to be a difference in how the terminal\u2019s screen looks when the power switch is on or off, then power is not reaching the terminal for one reason or another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First thing to check is that the power cable is properly seated on each end\u2013 in the wall, and also into the terminal\u2019s power port. If this does not restore power to the terminal, then try to plug the power cable into a different outlet. If available, a new power cable should be tried next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After these troubleshooting steps, if power still can not be applied to the terminal, then repair service&nbsp;is necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Error Message On Start Up<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead of going to the regular loading screens on start up, you may see an error message screen instead. This screen typically has a black background with red text, with either \u201cProgram.bin not found\u201d or \u201cFatal Error 10\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" src=\"https:\/\/transact-tech.com\/service-and-support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2023\/07\/1010a-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-263208\" srcset=\"https:\/\/transact-tech.com\/service-and-support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2023\/07\/1010a-1.jpeg 500w, https:\/\/transact-tech.com\/service-and-support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2023\/07\/1010a-1-480x320.jpeg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 500px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In such a case, the first thing to do would be opening up the AccuDate 9700\u2019s port compartment on the right-hand side of the screen to verify that there is an SD card inserted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" src=\"https:\/\/transact-tech.com\/service-and-support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2023\/07\/1010b-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-263209\" srcset=\"https:\/\/transact-tech.com\/service-and-support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2023\/07\/1010b-1.jpeg 500w, https:\/\/transact-tech.com\/service-and-support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2023\/07\/1010b-1-480x320.jpeg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 500px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If the SD card is present, then you will want to remove and reseat the SD card by following this guide:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/transact-tech.my.salesforce-sites.com\/support\/articles\/KB_Article\/SD-Card-Removal-Replacement?popup=true&amp;retURL=%2Fsupport%2Fapex%2FSearchResults%3Fknwcat%3DAccuDate_9700%26supcat%3DTouch_Screen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SD Card Removal &amp; Replacement<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If reseating the SD card does not resolve this issue, or If there is no SD card, you will need to contact TransAct to order a replacemnet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Unit Restarts Itself\/Powers Off When Printing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In this case, the terminal may constantly turn itself off and on at a certain point in the start up process.
