To help ensure a smooth experience during the upcoming maintenance window, we’ve compiled answers to the most common questions about system availability, BOHA! application functionality, data synchronization, and recommended preparation steps. While some administrative and BOHA! Control Center functions will be temporarily unavailable, most day-to-day operational activities using the BOHA! applications will continue to function offline. Review the FAQs below to understand what to expect before, during, and after the maintenance window.

Preparing for the Maintenance Window

What should I do before the maintenance window begins?

  • Ensure all devices are logged in and remain logged in.
  • Do not log out or clear app data on any device.
  • Update BOHA! applications to the latest version:
    • Android Ops 7.11.022512
    • Android Temp 5.8.012512
    • Android Sense 2.7.012512
    • iOS Ops 10.7.012601
    • iOS Temp 5.9.022601
    • iOS Sense 2.5.022601
  • Publish/download any required menus, labels, templates, or content in advance.
  • Ensure that any pre-scheduled updates are pushed before or after the maintenance window.
  • Allow devices to sync before the maintenance window.
  • Avoid making configuration or administrative changes during maintenance.
  • Please Update the Whitelist.

Why is it important to remain logged in?

Devices that are already authenticated can continue operating offline during the maintenance window. Logging out may prevent users from accessing the application until maintenance is complete.

Can users log in during the maintenance window?

No. Authentication services will be unavailable during the maintenance window. Users should remain logged in prior to the start of maintenance.

Can users execute scheduled updates (menu and checklists updates publishing, etc.) during the maintenance window?

No. All scheduled updates must be executed before or after the maintenance window. Any scheduled updates that execute during the maintenance window will not be published to BOHA! apps and you will be required to republish it after the maintenance is complete.

What happens if application data is cleared?

If application data is cleared, users will be unable to authenticate and access the application until maintenance is complete. Do not clear application data during the maintenance window.

General Questions

What is happening during the maintenance window?

We will be performing planned system maintenance and infrastructure migration activities. During this time, some online services will be temporarily unavailable while BOHA! operational applications such as Labeling, Checklists, Media, Timers, Reporting and Analytics, Temp, and Sense will continue to function in offline mode.

Will there be any downtime?

BOHA! Control Center, administrative functions, APIs, integrations, and authentication services will be unavailable during the maintenance window. However, most operational applications will continue to function offline.

Application Functionality

Which applications will remain available?

The following operational applications and functions will continue to operate in offline mode:

  • Ops App
    • Labeling
    • Timers
    • Checklists
    • Locally generated reporting
    • Previously viewed media content
  • Temp App
    • Temp Checklists Execution
    • Notifications
    • Locally generated reporting
  • Sense App
    • Equipment monitoring
    • Notifications

Can users continue normal operations?

Yes. Users can continue entering data, completing checklists, printing labels, monitoring temperatures, and performing normal operational tasks.

What happens if an app is closed or crashes?

The application will reopen and continue operating offline with locally stored data.

What happens if a device restarts?

The application will restart in offline mode and continue functioning with previously synchronized data.

Data Synchronization

Will data entered during the maintenance window be lost?

No. Data entered while offline will be stored locally on the device and synchronized automatically after services are restored.

Will all data synchronize after maintenance?

Yes. Data collected during the maintenance window will automatically synchronize once connectivity to the platform is restored.

Is there any risk of data loss?

No data loss is expected, provided users remain logged in and do not clear application data.

Sense Application Monitoring

Will Sense application monitoring continue during the maintenance window?

Yes. Sensor monitoring will continue throughout the migration process.

Will alerts and notifications continue to work?

Yes. Alerts, notifications, and monitoring rules will remain active during the migration.

Will dashboards and reporting be affected?

Some dashboard and reporting information may not reflect real-time data until the BOHA! Control Center becomes available again. Any missing historical data will be synchronized after maintenance is complete.

BOHA! Control Center & Administration

Will the BOHA! Control Center be available?

No. The BOHA! Control Center will be unavailable during the maintenance window.

Can I make configuration changes during the maintenance window?

No. Administrative functions, including configuration updates and publishing activities, will be unavailable.

Can I publish menus, labels, or templates during maintenance?

No. Publishing and administrative updates must be completed before maintenance begins.

What will I see if I access the BOHA! Control Center during maintenance?

A maintenance message will be displayed indicating that the system is temporarily unavailable.

APIs & Integrations

Will APIs remain available?

No. APIs and integrations will be unavailable during the maintenance window.

Will integrations resume automatically afterward?

Yes. APIs and integrations will resume normal operation once maintenance is complete.

After the Maintenance Window

What happens when maintenance is complete?

All systems will return to normal operation, and any data collected offline will automatically synchronize.

Do users need to take any action after maintenance?

In most cases, no action is required. Applications will reconnect and synchronize automatically.

What if there is an issue with migration?

A rollback plan is in place. If necessary, services can be restored to the previous hosting environment to minimize customer impact.
